Get the configuration from the devices

Hi All
A question regarding the project configuration:
Is it possible to collect the configuration from the devices and build the project from it?
or it is must to have the ETS project file in order to work on it ?
What happens if the project file is corrupted or missing ?

It depends.

There is a ETS-Addon "Rekonstruktion" available which can create a ETS project reading the data from the devices - but you won't geht any group address names or description texts because they aren't stored in the devices.

It is possible to read Information from the devices using ETS builtin tools but you won't get any information for particular settings through this (device / Channel configuration), only group address associations, device vendor, product type.

You can't get any Information from devices that are locked (BCU password set).

And there are devices that can't be read out - usually devices that are programmed through an ETS plugin.
