Yes, that's is one option.
Online configuration is a blessing for some and others are not so happy with it.
If something happens to xxter company, the software and cloud environment will be put in a open source environment. But I'm sure this will not be necessary.

It's correct, configuration is always done in the cloud and downloaded to the device.

Next to upload of knxproj, you can add elements without uploading the knx project.

We have sold xxter for 8 years now, with online configuration. In development is a tool for offline configuration. This will be rolled out starting next year.

The cloud service is just to transfer the knxproj file to the unit, after this communication is done direct from Apple devices to Pairot.
HomeKit does not need a Apple server, if you want to control from outside the house a Hub is needed. This can be an Apple TV or iPad that's always in the house.

The 99 element limit is a hard demand by Apple, no bridge can have more than 99.

Thinka is not sold in a HomeKit version anymore.
Pairot is connected direct to the knx bus. No gateway needed.
Pairot has HomeKit and Alexa integrated in one device, Google home is being implemented right now and will be free as software update.

so if I have ETS Inside, I can‘t use it? (No export function —> no .knxproj)

Im oben verlinkten Video wird klar gesagt das man das ETS Projekt hochladen muss und dann auf der Cloud Platform alles konfiguriert. Die "GUI" auf dem Gerät lässt nur minimale Einstellungen zu sowie den Download von Firmware und Konfiguration aus der Cloud.

natürlich funktioniert das dann nach der Config ohne Cloud zwischen idevice und pairot, das ist halt HomeKit.

Aber ohne cloud kann man nichts konfigurieren, ändern usw. Nette Nebelkerze mit "HomeKit braucht keine Cloud" um von der Problematik abzulenken. Spätestens jetzt für mich gestorben.

Schade, auch das xxter hat die Begrenzung auf 99 Geräte.... fraglich ist, ob man da auch Gruppenadressen aus dem Homeserver hineinbekommt oder nur die aus der ETS?
