Man kann auch das Archiv auf eine Nextcloud / Dropbox legen. Dann darf man halt nicht vergessen regelmäßig einzuchecken, aber immerhin stürzt ETS deshalb nicht ab 🙃

Wenn es nur mittels QR code Sticker auf dem Interface gesichert ist:

• darfst du dir sicherlich auch n neues Interface kaufe weil geht ja nicht anders!
• hast du noch Zugriff wenn du das Haus verkaufst oder dein Alter SI den du aber nicht mehr hast und nun neuen.

kann man alles mit rechtemanagement erschlagen - kann Gira gut in ihr Portal integrieren. Oder man lässt es im Gebäudenetz hinter KNX Secure auf dem Interface. Gehört ja mit zur Installation.

Ich habe die Dropbox-App auf dem Windows-System installiert. Es gibt also eine lokale Kopie der Dropbox auf meinem System.

Dann habe ich den lokalen Dropbox-Pfad in der ETS als Arbeitsverzeichnis installiert.

Während man mit der ETS arbeitet, sollte man aber die Dropbox-Synchronisation anhalten, sonst stürzt die ETS manchmal ab. Das ist der Nachteil dieser Arbeitsweise.

Wenn ich ferig bin mit Arbeiten die Synchronisation wieder einschalten und natürlich zusätzlich ein Backup (Export) erstellen.

Sure. However, then, I would have to buy new Hardware

Also I can imagine that it would be not good for professional Workflows in which an Engineer could prepare an update of a Project in Office and only then travel to the Building (where he has access to the data stored in the interface)

I support this idea. But why putting the project into the cloud? Another approach is to adopt the standard that every interface/router should have a small storage for the last used projects. Maybe in a ring Puffer to store the last 8 save points.

Should also fix your issue to not have your actual project state at hand.

Hello,

hoping, that this reaches the KNX Association S. De Bruyne Klaus Gütter :
I was wondering why "Cloud" does not go a bit further with ETS.
Now that I have a Cloud, License, I can use any Computer for the ETS. E.g. my Kids have currently invaded my main Computer, so I took my Laptop.
But - oh no - I do not have my up-to-date Project.
So, why not make it -optionally- possible to store the project in a knx.org cloud?

As a next step, one could additionaly have a QR Code on each USB or IP Interface that gives access to a Cloud Storage of the Project of my home - how often have we seen desperate people looking for their project.
In the end, this is negligile cost, considering the size of KNX Projects compared to the device cost...
