KNX/EIB GIRA KNX Alarm System

Hi.

I need help programming my alarm system
I bought a Gira KNX alarm system but not only I am starting with KNX but unfortunately it also has no english instruction or english software. I have to rely on online translators which are a bit...err... dubious.

I have many questions and don't know even where to start but here goes:

1 - My house has basement, ground floor and upper floor. So, I would like to have 3 options: fully armed (when away), basement armed, basement and ground floor armed (when sleeping). Which option should I choose?

1x Innenraum, 1x Außenhaut (verschachtelt)
2x [1 x Innenraum, 1x Außenhaut (verschachtelt)]
bis zu 4 unabhängige Bereiche
bis zu 4 abhängige Bereiche (kaskadiert)

2 - I will be using 2 types of presence/movement sensors: KNX and 230v (connected to a KNX push sensor). Both in normal operation only trigger when lux level is below a certain value. How will they perform as alarm sensors? Will they only trigger below that same lux level?

3 - Does this alarm have any option set the time delay before alarm goes off? For example, I want to enter the house and have x seconds to disarm the alarm before it starts to shout. Can I do this?

4- I also have the Gira 0900 00 Telefonwählgerät AWUG. I bought this one online (used) but it came with no software or cable to program. Is it a regular rs232 cable or does it have special pinout? Also, where can I get the programming software?

5 - Does the Telefonwählgerät AWUG offer the ability to arm/disarm the alarm remotely?

Presence detector

Hi Mike,

your KNX-presence detector should have an option of detecting movement independet of Lux! This option is called in German "Meldung" or "Überwachung". I dont think the burglars are only coming at night..... in this case your detector would be sufficient ;-)
From what company are your presence detectors? The 230V movement detectors will for sure only start the alarm below the configured lux-level! So it's senseless! The only idea I'd have is, that you configure the detector in "Test"-mode (than it detects ANY movement) and for switching the light you could combine it with an light-detector e.g. Weather station...?!?

Thats the advantage of KNX - you can combine almost everything

Ok... I have almost everything figured out.

Now my only problem is the Gira 0900 00 Telefonwählgerät AWUG. I've contacted Gira and they tell me they don't have the programming software or cable anymore. The only option is the handheld programming device (0901 00) but I am not willing to spend almost 500€ for a programming device I will use only once!

Anyone has the original programming software for this?

I better ditch the damn device and buy something else.

So... after searching everywhere it seems no one has this cable or software. I will have to disconnect the AWUG and buy something else as a phone/gsm gateway for the alarm system.
Does anyone have any suggestion of a gateway that works with the Gira KNX Alarm System?

Hi!

Take what you want. Maybe not from HongKong...

You can program a groupadress to communicationobject "ALARM Scharfschaltbereich X" that switches an actorchannel in alarmcase. This actorchannel triggers your dialing-device. You should think about a two-way dialing-device. At first GSM and then Cable or IP. For professional work i often take one from Honeywell like DS7700. But this one is not easy to program an for Portugal maybe not ready. Take one for plug´n´play. Ask your local technician for intruder-alarm-systems.
