HS Web Pages/IP Devices analyse: troubleshooting

    Hi,

About HS Web Pages/IP Devices analyse, what is the best way to troubleshoot that thing ?
If any one of the test condition is not met, there is no result. In the Debug list, Event-BiDir, I can only see a status OK=1 or OK=0, but no clue as to where there is a problem.

The only way I've found is to start from the end and delete 10 blocks at a time untill it works again , and re-type the deleted lines, but that's not really a solution where there are over 320 lines.

Is it possible to work with cut & paste, or temporary copy of the file in order to avoid to have to type-in the whole file again, once the problem has been isolated ? It seems the HS doesn't work with filenames but rather internal IDs, is it so ?

    Thanks in advance
    Raymond

The debug page indicates where to look for the problem:
(Gesamt: 12) (Work: 4) (Typ: Liste) (OK: 0)
In this case we have a query with 12 steps. The query runs perfect including step 4.

Therefore you should have a look on step 5 .

      Yaaah
(Gesamt: 316) (Work: 208) (Typ: Liste) (OK: 0)
Yaaah, this will be quicker then deleting 315 lines and rebuilding them

      !!!

PS: how could I have learned this by myself
Isn't there an "Idiot's guide to the HomeServer"

It was already discussed several times in the other forum, so this feature was supposed to be well-known .

Someone should write an article in the Wiki

Please add a / at the end of your quoting
...The query runs perfect includig step 4.[/quote]

OK. I must admit I've a problem with the search, due to my lack of knowledge of the right keywords.
Still no go with my web page analyze.
Could it be that the HS doesn't like a page > 65K ? (in my case it is 94K). It seems that the syntax is OK, but it chops just over the 65K

Does someone know a (free) debugger that can read files > 64K ?
To see ALL characters, I use the MS-DOS style Debug, but it can't go beyhond FFFF.

          Thank you

So, when it says "Work 4", it is step 4 included ?
I'm a bit puzzled. I've checked it, double checked it, and still no clue, can't see the problem.
The web page contains many "white spaces" (tabs, spaces, CR/LF) but when I include thoses "white spaces" as part of the "text" to search for, it doesn't work at all
I dump the web page in text format, and look it up with Debug, so I thought I can't miss it.
I think this web page analyse is not a reliable method, I would love to have an XML file from a RSS feed, but it's just wishfull thinking.

            Cheers

              Yes, Step 4 is included.

I make it on 2 ways:

              1) as first step, i use "Beliebige Anzahl von Daten" an as Step 2, i use a long phrase bevor the first Information which i will extract/use. So my useful information ist Step 3.

              2) or i use "Feste Anzahl von Daten" and count the letters/numbers bevore the information which i will use appears.

              for 99,99% I use 1) .....
