KNX/EIB Difference between Gira Busankoppler 1.0 and 2.1 ?

Hello,

As far as i know, Gira made three Busankoppler Units:

Instabus Busankoppler UP (Artikel-Nr. 057000)
This one is used for all normal things: Tastsensors, Info-Display2, etc.

Instabus Busankoppler UP 2.1 (Artikel-Nr. 064500)
This one is only used for RS-232 Gateway (and i saw some people who used it for IR things..)

Instabus Busankoppler UP 2.0 (same Art.-Nr as 2.1)
This one is replaced by the above 2.1 version. I heard there were some problems with this unit.. ?


Now, i'm in a house were they used ONLY Bussankoppler 2.1 Units, everywhere! For all tastsensors. It should be quite expensive... And it works!

Is the Busankoppler 2.1 backwards compatible with the 1.0 version ? (something the 2.0 was definatelly not!)

I just want to sort out this basic thing.

Can you also see if there's difference in the properties/device-info ? (in ETS3)

Why did they named it "2.1" anyway.. ? (maybe you can use this one for 'future' purposes also.. ?

Why don't they drop the 1.0 version.. and only make 2.1 versions.. then make it cheaper and nobody has to worry about which version to use where..
