    Hi Mike,

    Sorry to be a pain

Then start the GUI client. From this GUI client you can learn new codes and store them in the code-tree.
    I'm stuck at this point.

So, I can start the IRTRans GUI Client, and then ?
select the "MODE" command ??? the Learn ??? this brings me a page where I should enter data ? no idea as to what I should put there

I thought that, at some point in time, I should shoot with my Remote Control into the IRTrans and gather the codes ? without entering them by hand ?

You mention a tree; indeed I found a tree under MODE, Device Database, but ??? should I create my own entry there ? i.e. one for the amplifier, one for the Blu-Ray, one for the projector etc ?

But I'm unable to create anything there, I must be on the wrong page

    Thank you for your patience

Against all odds, I'm moving on
I've read page 19 of the "Users Manual" at least 10 times, until I realise that they forgot to say
"click on "create" to continue on the second picture. Terrible ( I'm not speaking for other users seen on the support forum who experienced the same problems)

I'm terribly disappointed by this IRTrans product.
I must admit I've purchased the product based on excellent comments from the forum, but I wan't ever recommend it to anyone, not even to a hard die massochist.
It's based on a brilliant idea, excellent execution but a s..t of a doc. This doc is even worse then the HS doc. The english version, in its current state is simply unusable. I'm pretty sure it has never been reviewed by a third party. Never !
As an example, on top of page 10 of the "Ethernet PoE" manual, they speak about "Programming the IR
Database" but they fail to mention with which application this should be done. The title is missing !

      Next problem.
Now that I'm going to learn the codes... I've the hourglass running, running, running and .... time-out

I think this thing will fly on eBay real soon, I'm going to loose half of my money, but basta, that's the price of making a mistake.

I've finally managed to make the damn thing work.
Just by accident, I've been shooting at another device (in an other room, 4m from ground) and ô surprise, I got some data

Since the beginning, I was shooting at a device with the label "COD-RCV"
Obviously, the label is on the wrong device
End of a very painfull story

        Thank you IRTrans but SABENA

          Hi,

good to hear. I missed your last 2 posts, sorry I didn't respond.

I admit there's room for improvement regarding the doc ;-)

            Hi,

What a nice formulation , anyway, you managed to get trough, while I'm still fiddling
I don't understand the file management and the relation to the devices.
            So I have:
1x learning device 10.0.1.197, in room LT, with amplifier Yamaha and Blu-Ray LG
1x standard device 10.0.1.198, in room HC, with a projector BenQ
As I have only one learning device, I learned the codes for the ampli and projector from the same place (I guess nothing wrong with that).
With the HomeServer, I can control the amplifier, just fine. The control of the projector doesn't work (probably a mistake on my side, like wrong IP).

When I start the IRTrans GUI Client, Mode, Device Database, I see the 3 devices: Yamaha, BenQ, LG, but how can I see and edit the content of the files ? there is probably an error in the BenQ file.
I don't remeber where to specify which IP address should do what (it is important in my case because the devices are in different rooms).

In the GUI Client, it is possible to save a file, but there are also other files (Yamaha, BenQ etc) which is doing what ?
The doc says (...pffff) that is is possible to edit the files, great ! but a little more help would't hurt.
Also, I haven't flashed anything yet, I'll wait until I've cleared the mess (if ever ) I guess that's no problem either ?

            Thank you for any hint

to edit the content, just select the device/command, and learn it again, i guess. I don't have the IRtrans here anymore, it's installed @ a customer

You need to write the Yamaha, benq and other devices you've learned, to the IRtrans database, otherwise it will not be able to send them.
