KNX node for node-red

Hi
If you remember the last version of knxultimate you've updated from, you can install it going into your node-red folder and issue a
npm install node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate@x.x.x (x.x.x is the latest working version)
Otherwise, you could try to go backward to v. 2.5.1.

npm install node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate@​2.5.1

It were useful for me to know, what tie of issue you encountered, by opening a github issue here and providing the log (you can issue a

node-red-log -n 2000

What do I have to do there? Just type it into the console or go to a folder? Which one?
When I enter it like that, I get this error message.

And, please, if you wanna upgrade KNX-Ultimate, you must before update node-red, as stated in this log's row:

Da musst beim Skill-Hersteller für Alexa <> NR einen Featurerequest erstellen.

Bis dahin leg nen virtuellen Schalter im Alexa an den Du dann auch per Sprache ansprechen kannst um zu schalten und wenn der ankommt baust im NR nen Flow der dann an einem KNX-Node eine Szenennummer mit der Szenen GA sendet.

Ich setze auch Node-Red und knx-ultimate ein, wirklich genial.

Es sei am Rande erwähnt, das es mit der -kostenlosen- SmartHomeBridge auch KNX nativ funktioniert.

Hallo zusammen,

ich nutze node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate schon so ziemlich seit Anfang an, und so ein bissl hat mit der "Spam" mit HUE schon genervt, aber das hielt sich ja in Grenzen.
Mittlerweile ist node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate ein gigantisch aufgeblähtes Konstrukt mit 40(!) Nodes, zwei Plugins, und allem Möglichen mehr an Spam, was das Risiko für Sicherheitslücken entsprechend erhöht, was zu unzähligen Updates (und damit NR-Neustarts) führt und was das Lesen der Release-Notes zur Tortur macht.
Hinzu kommen Dinge, dass auch Logik in den Nodes implementiert wird (z. B. Garagentorfunktionen), die mit der KNX-Kommunikation so rein gar nichts zu tun haben.

Dabei möchte ich doch nur den KNX in NR bekommen und irgendwie vermute ich, die meisten anderen wollen das auch und benötigen (wollen?) den unnötigen Ballast nicht.
Langer Rede kurzer Sinn, ich schätze die Arbeite vom Entwickler sehr, habe auch Geld gespendet, aber es ist mir mittlerweile einfach viel zu weit von dem entfernt, für was ich das Paket brauche - KNX-Kommunikation.
Kennt jemand von euch ein anderes, gutes KNX-Paket für NR? Oder einen schlanken Fork von node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate, der sich rein auf KNX konzentriert, ohne die ganze KI/HUE/Sprachausgabe/Matter/Zigbee/Programmabläufe Bloatware?

thank you for using knx-ultimate.
Yes, the package has growth the last years but if you take a look at it, it now it has only 1 HUE Node and 2 Matter nodes. The Plugin system has been removed as well. The other KNX nodes like the Garage Door Opener, are here to help people simplify the flow worlflow. They will be removed and unified in one single node.
You'll not find any other node like KNX Ultimate. It's rock solid, developed in years (well before the AI!) and natively supports KNX IP Secure, full TP Secure and Serial communications via KBerry or serial KNX interface.
It's maintained and developed with care, love and PASSION. The core is based on the KNXUltimate engine, developed in TypeScript, maintained with the same efforts as the node and the code contains a full package of tests, linter and all the stuffs to prevent regressions during the development.

You've donated for the node, and your donation is into the code, in the form of some Typescript routine!!
So stay with it. I earn nothing if you continue using KNX Ultimate, but it would be a real honor to know that one more user has chosen my work—the time I’ve dedicated instead of taking a walk outdoors, and the passion I’ve made available to EVERYONE, for free, as open source.

Like I wrote (in German) I appreciate your work - otherwise I wouldn't have donated.
The reason I was asking for well-known forks or other alternatives is this, as you can see in my screenshot. Two nodes used, the rest I personally consider as bloatware.
And when I started using the knx-ultimate package there wasn't so much more besides the two nodes I'm using.
I use Node-RED for reliable (rock solid) controls for my building, like heating, aircon, etc. Anything to "play" I'm using Home-Assistant anyway. I simply like to keep Node-RED slim and secure.

You'll see for some more time the old nodes, but they are hidden and no one can use it anymore.
I simply cannot fully delete it yet, because many users haven't yet migrated to the single-node mode.
Anyway, they will be purged some day until end of October.
In the upcoming version, you'll see no more KNX bloatware nodes in the palette menu.
All the dependencies are anyway always up to date and the security patches are applied as well.

Goldsmith You can install the beta, by following the link below.
You'll see that many nodes have been removed in the Palette menu. This beta fixes also some issues with VRRP/VIP addresses versus IP Addresses and fixes also a possible issue with the node's ACK reply to a KNX ACK request, in case of slow machines.

Do you happen to know (collected statistics/telemetry?) how many people actually use matter/hue/ai/etc. in node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate?
I only know three people (me included) who use node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate and the other two I spoke to yesterday out of curiosity.
Of course that't no representative usage profile but the other two are using the packacke exactly the same way as I do - pure KNX.

Anyway, it is how it is but if you would at least consider not adding any non-KNX features to a KNX package in future but to rather build own packages for non-KNX functionality - it would be great.
Less "foreign" extra code, means less dependencies updates/upgrades, means less Node-RED restarts, means less reading of release notes, means less security issues, etc.. Right now it's already some non-KNX related dependencies and it would be amazing if you would consider not increasing that list.
