unfortunately not I test with "ABCD" which was shown in ETS correctly but no change on the node,
and before you ask my interface is a Gira X1 tunnel :-)

I used common debug node with output to debug-pane and just copied this.

Node red is 1.1.3: Maintenance Release

Used Browser latest Chrome Version 86.0.4240.75 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit), but tested as well with Firefox and Explorer, value is still 1 rectangular symbol different in IE
nevertheless I would expect a different String than "1" :-(

so whatever string you send to the knx-ultimate node, from ETS, you see the “1” in the debug window?
Can you copy your two nodes and paste here the code? I’ll try tomorrow again, but this time, with your exact flow.

Sorry, but you're injecting a "1" every 30 seconds.
The debug node responds with "1", because of that.
I've tried sending different values to your node, using ETS, and all works. I tried with the full ascii 127 charset, without issues.
What you're trying to achieve? Maybe i can help you in designing your flow.
I cannot help you more than that, because i don’t know why your’re seeing all the [][][][][]. Maybe it’s related to some settings in your linux. You can try other knx nodes as well, like knx-easy, but you won’t resolve this issue.

ABOUT DPT 20.102
I tried this as well and it works flawlessly, with 0 = Auto, 1 = Comfort and so on.
I sincerely don't know why you see 36. The allowed values are 0,1,2,3,4.

OK - thought that the true-injector will trigger a read command on that interface.
Just wondering why normal ETS group-monitor write won't work.

But As said I'm a newby to node-red. I was searching on a easy solution for my purpose "only" visible status/graphic using raspi
"out of box" and don't want to spend much time on this.
When it's working on your site I believe the mistake is on my site and will try now other options to get my heating data visualized fully.

Hi Franc,
I think you're overwhelmed. I suggest you to take a 24-48h of pause and to think to other things, relax and then go to node-red again. I suggest you to take a look at the knx-ultimate wiki and at the samples, with calm and relax.
In the meantime, i'l paste here a code to achieve what you want. This code does work. So if you see some weirdnesses, i suggest you to take a look at your linux settings. Maybe install node-red from fresh to a VM or, if you have Qnap, install the already prompt dockerized image of node-red.

I'm not overwhelmed to be frank but more frustrated on the output to dashboard-chart.
I saw a comment that Grafana with InfluxDB is better way as long main goal is charts and data.
Thought to try this later - but as long node red (not your knx node) will require many work for me.
I was just thinking if it's worth to spend more time on this here

As said - I love your knx node and was succesfull with diagnose now - by integrating your source and transforming it to my channels/rooms.
Therefore I would like to support you on heating-actor settings wether or not I will continue to use, maybe it's helpfull for others.
Therefore split RHCC from HVAC experience.

I require this in MDT-AHK001 (which slightly differs from 002 on HVAC) in techn. handbook (p39/40):
This is text from MDT-AHK001 handbook

The DPT HVAC Status communication, DPT_HVAC Status (without number) of KNX-specification, object sends the hex value for the adjusted operating mode. When more than one testify is valid, the hex values are added and the communication object sends the added value. The hex values can be read from visualization afterwards.
The following chart shows the hex values for the single messages:

If you heat at the comfort mode, the communication object will send the value 20 (for heating) +1 (for the comfort mode) =21.

What I didn't understand which format is the value for example is 36 sum of DEC or Hex? And if DEC can this be converted by knxultimate in HEX or did I need some different node/code?

The fastest way is: do not convert. The modes are only 5. Use ETS to check what numbers corresponds to what mode/combinations of modes, then make a function that checks these numbers and outputs a correct message.
Tomorrow i’ll check the AHK001 docs.
36 should be in Hex.
